The village of Glenkindie is nearby, with a shop, post office and hotel serving good pub food, as well as restaurant cuisine. The town of Alford which is approximately 12 miles east, has further amenities, while local attractions and leisure pursuits include Castle and Whisky Trails, Stone Circle Trail, hill-walking, mountaineering/climbing, fishing, golf, ski-ing (wet and dry), Lonach highland games, and many historical points of interest.
