Autumn walking in the Cairngorms.
On 31st October we enjoyed superb walking in the Cairngorms National Park, climbing the munro of Sgor Gaoith. After a late start from Glen Feshie, we were soon enjoying the fresh scent of Scots Pine and Juniper, as well as looking back over the fabulous Autumn colours in the Glen. The path has been upgraded and allowed us to take in the views rather than watching our feet! As we reached the open hill, the gliders started to appear, moving very swiftly in the strong winds. What a fantastic feeling that must be, viewing the Cairngorms National Park from above!

After two hours, we reached the summit of Sgor Gaoith, just as a rain storm turned into hail! Talk about four seasons in one day! We waited to see if it would abate, and were rewarded with views over to Braeriach and down to a double rainbow on Loch Einich, where white capped waves were being whipped up by the strong wind down the Glen.

Returning over Geal Charn saw us drop down to the path and enjoy the Autumn sun on the Scots Pine. Whilst the Autumn sun felt so good, the icy hail on the summit reminded me to pack a lot more warm gear for future walks!

That whole trip looks utterly amazing. Love the idea of gliding over the park - have to put that on my list of things to do in my life! Great pics, by the way!
