Autumn in the Cairngorms National Park

Autumn in the Cairngorms National Park.

There is something very special about Autumn in the Cairngorms National Park. The trees in the Rothiemurchus Forest and around Aviemore provide a colourful show that gladdens the heart.

Our walk in Autumn 2009 took us through the Pine woods to the flanks of the munro of Sgor Gaoith. On reaching the summit, the storm gave way to lovely sunshine and Loch Einich and Braeriach appeared out of the gloom. You've got to be prepared for all weather on the Cairngorm plateau, but when it's visible, it's unbeatable!

For an autumn break in Aviemore and the Cairngorms National Park, check out availability for this lovely Self Catering Cottage.
